Hi Everyone, I hope you are enjoying some sunshine in your part of the world. Mother’s day is difficult for me since my mom and my husband’s mom have both passed away. I am sad that both of my girls are growing up without knowing their grandmas. I am still dealing with grief over my mom dying. I don’t know when the feelings will fade or if they ever will. Little things hit me sometimes, like when I can’t find one of her recipes or when something exciting has happened and I can’t just pick up the phone and call her. One thing that has really helped me is painting. When she first died I started painting a little every day. It didn’t matter what I was painting, I just painted for the sake of creating. We don’t allow ourselves that time very often in our lives…just creating or doing something we love without worrying about the outcome. I hope you are able to carve out some time for yourself to do something you love on mother’s day.
Wine and Paint night fun!
I ran a wine and paint night a couple of weekends ago and it was so much fun. The people that came created such beautiful, colorful paintings. The next wine and paint night will be in the fall so stay tuned for details.
