How to make a Labyrinth for a Walking Meditation

I have become interested in labyrinths lately. A labyrinth looks like a maze but it only has a single path that leads to the center so you can’t get lost.
When my daughter was in the hospital I discovered a labyrinth on the deck outside of the floor below where Claire was. I would often stare at it in the middle of the night when I was staying over at the hospital and couldn’t sleep. Walking the labyrinth made me feel more relaxed as if walking the spiral pattern was taking away my fears and stress.  Here is a picture of the Labryrith at the BC Children’s hospital.

I wanted that same feeling at home. I decided to start making labyrinth paintings to see if I could have that same feeling of relaxation when I made them. Tracing the pattern with my fingers also helps me when I am working through something.  Check out the video I made on how to draw and paint your own labyrinth here.   I would love your comments on my new YouTube channel!  I am having so much fun making art videos and I am getting such nice feedback.  I have already posted 10 videos so subscribe and join the fun!
