Take a Leap and Try Something New

take a leap try something new

When I was younger I tended to leap and I wasn’t afraid to try something new.    I was fearless.  I traveled around the world often on my own,  I went bungee jumping, white water rafting, I flew in a helicopter, I rock climbed, I did a marathon and the list goes on.  I wasn’t concerned what others thought of me and I took a leap often.    I was thinking the other day that now I am married with kids it is harder to take a leap.  As I get older, it is even harder to try new things.  But as I was thinking about it, taking a leap doesn’t have to be jumping out of a plane or bungee jumping, it can be trying new things and going for your dreams no matter what others say.   There are so many benefits of trying new things.  From re-invigorating your life, stimulating creativity to making you feel happier and bringing more joy to your life and the life of your family.

I am on a journey right now to grow my art business and part of that has been starting a You Tube channel.  It is scary to film myself painting but I have decided that I am just going to go for it and have fun.  I posted a video this week of trying something new called Acrylic Pouring.  I filmed myself trying it for the first time and actually posted it on You Tube….mistakes and all.  I even texted a friend and said I can’t believe I posted my first time trying this!  But trying something new in painting was invigorating.  I loved it and it just makes me want to do more.  Check it out with this link.  Here is the painting I made:

This week think about something you have been wanting to try to do.  What is holding you back?  What steps can you take to go for it this week?  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Share what you are going to do!
