Tissue Paper Art is so much fun!

I love experimenting with new materials.  You don’t always have to use a paint brush or paint to make beautiful art.  We have been playing with bleeding tissue paper and it is so much fun for kids (and adults!).

Materials

-Spray bottle with water, water colour paper and bleeding tissue paper.  The tissue paper can be found at local craft stores.  We bought ours online at Dickblick.com.  You can also use regular tissue paper but some of them don’t work as well.

Steps

Spray the paper with water.

Rip up the tissue paper and place in layers on the wet paper.  Try to use colours that are close together on the colour wheel that mix well together.  For example red+yellow=orange, blue+red=purple, yellow+blue=green.  Other wise you might get muddy colours.  Once you have placed the tissue on the paper spray again with water.

Let dry for a few hours or dry with a blow dryer.  Once dry, pull the tissue paper off to reveal your beautiful work  of art.

You can use this as a background or just keep it the way it is.  Such magic with a few supplies.
