Queen Elizabeth Imperial State Crown Art

I wanted to do a special art lesson in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.  The Imperial State Crown was made in 1937 for the coronation of the Queen’s father, King George VI.

The crown sparkles with nearly 3,000 stones – including 2,868 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, and five rubies.

During her reign, Queen Elizabeth II would wear it annually for the State Opening of Parliament.

Follow along with the You Tube video to make your own crown.  Draw the overall shape and then draw in your own decorations or add in jewel stickers and glitter to really make your crown look regal.
