Thoughts on Slowing Down

Welcome to the new people that have joined my blog recently.  This is a space where I share art projects, events coming up and thoughts on life.  Today is for thoughts on slowing down.

Sometimes when things happen in life it makes you change directions.  I injured my back last week and it has made me slow down.  I am not able to rush around getting things down.  I have to sit, lie down and just be.  I am not very good at slowing down or resting.  Even when I was pregnant with the girls and the doctor told me to slow down, I had such a hard time.   Cue my husband telling me to rest.  My mom was like that as well…..always busy doing things.  It must be in my genes.  I have discovered this week when I was forced to stop, that slowing down does have its benefits.  I find my creative mind is able to work better and I have clearer ideas of the direction to go in my art business.  I am able to help the girls with their homework and be home to hear about their day after school.  I can focus on healthier foods to heal my body and be present when my husband is sharing one of his guitar solos.  So I guess I have discovered that injuring my back sucks…but slowing down is good for the soul.  So when the universe sends you messages to slow down…listen.  How many of you have taken the time to slow down recently?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

When you see all the events I have coming up in the rest of this post, you will see why it is hard to slow down!
