Happy New Year! My word of the year is joy. I feel like 2019 was a hard year since my daughter was in the hospital and was quite ill. I felt like I wasn’t totally present in anything I did and it took us all a long time to recover. She is doing so much better now and we were happy to say good bye to 2019.
This year I feel like I have joy inside of me that wants to burst out with bright colours. If you have been following along on my journey on Instagram (@smilesand swirls) you will see all kinds of bright bold paintings. I am doing things I haven’t done before and taking risks with paint and it feels awesome. I really am
making my own art a priority this year. Stay tuned in my upcoming blog post for a joy challenge I will be running soon! I really want to help others to have joy this year as well.
What is your word of the year? I think it is so important to think about the kind of year you want to manifest and to choose a word that will guide you on your path. My word of the year just came to me this year while I was painting with bright colours. Other years I needed to journal or meditate to come up with my word.
