National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Art Project

feather art

Learn to make an art feathers project in recognition of The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.   Feathers are a powerful symbols of trust, honour, strength, wisdom, power and freedom.

In Canada, Orange Shirt Day was first established as an observance in 2013, as part of an effort to promote awareness and education of the residential school system and the impact it has had on Indigenous communities.  In 2021 the day was elevated to a statutory holiday and named “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation”.

Creating art together is a beautiful way to learn about National Truth and Reconciliation Day.  Click HERE (Wendy Meades Channel on YouTube) to create your own Every Child Matters Feather Artwork.
